Dimensions: Length in inches: 8.75 Width in inches: 8.75 Height in inches: 2 Weight in pounds/ounces: 1 lb 9 oz Reflections: This bowl reflects my thoughts about war-torn countries in these troubled times.  The outside of the bowl is raw clay, unsmoothed and unglazed, just as countries like Ukraine and others must focus on survival without the veneer of beauty.  The inside glaze is pitted, much as a landscape of explosion craters is an inescapable reality and reminder of conflict.   I made the bowl heavier than usual, to reflect the weight on residents of the uncertainty and death surrounding them. Finally, the dove hovers over the devastated landscape, searching for a safe place to land.  My heart goes out to the residents of any place where violence is a part of their everyday world.
