Brent Taylor serves as Secretary-Treasurer, Principal Officer of Local 745 in Dallas, TX. He also serves as Secretary-Treasurer, Director for Teamsters Joint Council 80.  He proudly joins the O’Brien-Zuckerman 2021 Slate as a candidate for Southern Region Vice President.

Brent is a third-generation Teamster who became a proud member 37 years ago, at age 17, in 1983.  He began working as a dock checker for Yellow Freight in Dallas, TX, serving as a union steward for nine years.  In 1997, he became an Organizer for Local 745.  He later served as Assistant Business Representative, President, and in 2004 was elected Secretary-Treasurer, where he has held that position for the last 16 years. Taylor is also an elected Trustee for both the Southern States and Southern Region Retirement Funds.  

Brent has served as Co-Chairman on numerous committees within our great organization, such as Southern Region Freight (city); National Master Freight; Southern National Automobile Transporters; Texas Conference Joint Transfer Cartage. He also holds a chair on the Dallas AFL-CIO, Central Labor Council, and the National Movie Policy Committee for the IBT.  He has received numerous awards and recognition from local and state leaders.  

Taylor has served as an elected Delegate to the 2006, 2011, and 2016 International Conventions. In 2001, he served as Sergeant-at-Arms, and in 2006 served on the Resolutions Committee.  In 2016, he served on the IBT Constitution Committee. With this wide range of leadership roles, he has achieved high levels of experience and knowledge which will help strengthen our Great Union and reaffirm his commitment to fighting for better wages, benefits, and job security for future generations.
