The registration fee covers workshops, the welcome reception and dinner, movie night and other refreshments, and the Awards Banquet. Please note that the fee is all-inclusive and must be paid in full before you can finalize your registration form. Once the list is complete, we will provide the class schedule for you to choose from.

The workshops are:

• Where do I Begin-This workshop is designed for anyone who leads or assists their union with written communications. Are you new to the role of editor or in a supportive position for your union publication? It is also suitable for local or state organizations interested in starting or revitalizing a publication for their members.

• Legal Issues-Are you ready to protect your union's newsletter from lawsuits? This workshop will cover how libel and copyright laws affect freedom of speech, the benefits of an editorial policy, and the impact of union election laws on publications. • Building our Labor Movement & Organizing the Organization-This workshop has two main goals: to help union members explore strategies for overcoming obstacles and advocating for workers and the union, as well as to teach participants how to organize and manage their own locals effectively.

• Using Social Media and Enhancing Your Website—Our members enjoy social media, so let’s get them involved! This training will cover keeping our websites and social media platforms updated with relevant information and engaging our members to stay engaged and informed.

• Newsletter Production: Revamping Your Publication-Are you looking to motivate your members to engage with your newsletter? This workshop will cover your news articles, photojournalism, and other content to improve your newsletter. • Writing & Editing for the Union Communicator; a.k.a. How to Write More Gooder- What editing and writing techniques will make our article's reader friendlier? This workshop will help you!

• Microsoft Office Basic Software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) - are you ready to increase your skills with this software? Attend this workshop to assist you with your knowledge and usage of each.

• Labor History of the Past to Defeat the Challenges of Today-Postal and other workers becoming unionized? What have we done to protect and strengthen workers’ rights? Pre-conference Session Tuesday, July 29: You can select two of the three half-day workshops (A-C). Walk-ins will not be permitted. Conference Workshops Wednesday, July 30 – Friday, August 1 You will register for these workshops in advance by selecting four of the workshops and your alternative choices by using the letter next to the workshop after the schedules have been completed.
