Work Dues for Sound, TV, & Film sessions

Work Dues for Sound, TV, & Film sessions

Please pay your work dues invoice here. Your recent work on a recording session was covered by an AFM Agreement. This Agreement, negotiated on behalf of musicians by our Union, guarantees the minimum wages you receive, payment into your Pension Fund, Health and Welfare contributions, and future money you may receive for the Re-Use and/ or New Use of your recordings, the Special Payments Fund, and other miscellaneous revenue streams. Many musicians, including every other player on this particular project, have or will benefit greatly from this and other Union Agreements.

All musicians working under AFM National and Local Agreements have some obligations as well. One of those is to pay work dues to the Union, between 3% and 5% of the scale wage depending on the specific Agreement. This revenue is used to underwrite the cost of negotiations, administration of the Re-Use and New Use check processing, claims, arbitration and pension, etc...

Additionally, if you continue to work under AFM Agreements and are not an AFM member, you may wish to become a member in order to enjoy additional membership benefits.
