Voluntary dues are how we, as workers, pool our resources to stay organized and build the power needed to transform our working conditions. While no one is required to pay dues until we win a contract, contributing voluntarily strengthens our union, funds essential organizing efforts, and helps us push back against company tactics. Every dollar is controlled democratically by the members of ALU-IBT Local 1, with full transparency through financial reports and member votes. Dues help cover outreach, union literature, apparel, meeting spaces, and other organizing needs. The suggested contribution is $40 per month ($10 per week), but any amount helps us grow stronger together.
